  Hiroko Nakamura, Chairperson of jury said;
"100 successful contestants are announced. It was a big surprise that 37 applicants were prizewinners of the piano competitions which are affiliated with World Federation of International Music Competition. And 10 of them are the winners of piano competitions such as Dublin International Piano Competition and F. Busoni international Piano Competition. On the other hand, there are very talented young pianists who are waiting to be discovered. The Hamamatsu International Piano Competition is open to young pianists, and sometimes they play like world-class level performers even if they are age 14 or 15. I am looking forward to seeing them at the 5th Hamamatsu competition."
